PERFORMANCE TEAMS REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Jazz/Contemporary Performance Teams
​in 1 or 2 Companies:
  • Minimum 1 ballet classes per week
  • 1 Company Technique or Jazz class
  • FOR ACCELERATED TEAM SEE BELOW
Jazz/Contemporary Accelerated Performance Teams in 3 or more Companies: 
  •  I Turns Class
  • 1 Company Technique Class
  •  2 Ballet classes or 1 Ballet and 1 Technique Class
Additional Jazz/Contemporary/Technique classes  - Dancers in many company groupings need to TRAIN AT LEAST 6 HOURS PER WEEK

The minimum requirement for Hip Hop or Tap
  • 1 Hip Hop Class or 1 Tap Class

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is crucial in class and rehearsal. It is out of the respect for one's training, fellow dancers and teachers.
 If a dancer in the Performance Team Program has more than 3 unexcused absences from classes within the season it can affect their placement in their competition groups. ​

COMMITMENT

When joining the Performance Team Program the child and parent need to read the Company Handbook policies in adherence to able participate in the program.  By accepting placement into the program, you have agreed to the Policies.

DRESS CODE FOR REHEARSALS

Girls and Boys:
  • Wear darker colors for tops and bottoms with hair pulled out of face. (This creates a uniformed group for the teachers when cleaning and rehearsing the competition dance)
Shoes:
  • Jazz shoes (Black or Tan) for Jazz dances
  • Foot paws or Half shoes for Contemporary dances

No socks allowed in classes or rehearsals. 
It is for safety reasons to protect dancer's body from accidents and injury.
